“THE PURSUIT OF PURITY”

QUESTION #2 – How does temptation lead to building strongholds?
Last week we talked about what purity is and how it should look practically. Before we get started with tonight’s lesson, I want to begin by sharing with each of you that if you have messed up in some way in being pure, God grace is here for you. You can start fresh from this moment on, a clean slate.
Read Pg. 104-107 “ THE ROOM”
Turn in your Bibles to Romans 13:12-14

4. Think not to Gratify the desires of the flesh.
We have choices now about how we’ll live.
Each one of us need to make the choice to pursue purity.
So what does that look like.
I. KNOW the Battle. –
3 Gird your sword upon your side, O mighty one;
clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.
Ps. 45:3,
2 Cor. 10:3-5
A. Where it takes place – YOUR MIND
B. What takes place - STRONHOLDS
C. How it takes place - TEMPTATION
D. what we need to do – Bring captive to Christ
Rom. 8:6-7; Phil 3:19; Rom. 1:28-29, 7:23
a. Radically AMPUTATE – refuse to have access to anything that could create impure
thoughts (Matt 5:29-30, Rom. 13:14, Josh. 7:13)
b. Radically CONSUME – Need to begin to soak ourselves in the truth of scripture,
seeking God for Grace (Josh. 1:8, PS. 1:3)
Remember this is not a one-time battle we are fighting. It is and everyday, moment by moment war from which we can never back down. (Rom. 8:37) you need to plan and purpose in your heart for battle (Dan. 1:8)
